Life on life...
Yo fellow bloggers...
Last time I blogged it was mostly me talking about how I seemed somewhat drifted — alright completely drifted from my walk with the Lord.
Fast forward to today and well I can say I'm opening myself up now and revealing my thoughts and praying more to God. What allowed this is just self discipline...which I have to confess I'm not very good at. Sometimes, as a young Christian I feel that God isn't around like my parents (or in this case my dad) to discipline me if I misbehaved.
My analogy is sort of like running...when you start out running you're in a world of pain. But the more you run the better you get at it and the better you feel. And you get to a point where if you miss it, you start to feel bad again. That's my relationship with God...
In small group this week I learned several things in our discussion of Purpose Driven Life...
1) from Aaron I learned that when we are angry at God because we're going to tough time, it's only revealed later that God is doing that to us to allow us to be able to sympathize someone in that situation...
2) from Vic I learned that praying isn't about feeling as it is about thanking God--so you know when you said, "God I don't feel you right now..."
3) from Vivian I learned that in order to grow our church or community, we can focus on what we have in common than differences, we can encourage one another rather than criticize, and we can refuse to listen to gossip.
Knot2Us
More than a small group, I think K2U is becoming more and more of a close-knit group. It's great to have a community of common believers, who come together to share and you know just hang out. Granted we at one point or another have belonged to so many communities, but a community of people sharing the same faith in Jesus whose ideal is based on Christlikeness, it's a deeper community, I think.
GrX's cool slogan
I just remembered this. Our church's lead Pastor, pastor Dave came up with this slogan while running on a treadmill at the gym. While running and thinking about something catchy, Dave was watching CBS and he noticed the CBS acronym. From this was borned GrX's slogan:
C: CONNECT
B: BUILD
S: SERVE
This just goes to show that you never know when inspiration will struck...even at the gym. ;)
GrX Basketball
If you have been following my blogs, I have mentioned about our GrX Hoops ministry. Our team Ephesians have come together and played really well. We're first in our division and we are going to the playoff. If we make it to the championship round, I'll definitely send out an eVite if you're in GrX to come and support us...especially if you're in our small group of Knot2Us and Phileo Phish.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for having patience for a sinner like me. Sometimes I forget that in all I do Your fingerprint or hand is guiding me, always guiding me. I pray that I will abide in Your pushing me wherever I need to go, and I would just have to let go and trust You completely. In Your name and in the name of Christ I pray. Amen.
