Thoughts on Sith

** NOTE: SPOILERS AHEAD. PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS FILM.

Ah...yes the many discontinuity problems that arises when you analyze this film. I saw it Sat. morning with some friends who works at Adobe and got a private screening. The opening scene was amazing, visually stunning but leaves you feeling cold and empty--all eye candy. Personally I find it overwhelming.

My problems after the 1st viewing are numerous...

1) having been trained all their lives to become Jedi, you would think that being shot in the back is such a weak and fast way to dispose of them. And why is it that Yoda could sense the setup of the Atapua clones behind him and yet the other Jedi counsels (masters) didn't?

2) Anakin's acceptance of the Dark side and becoming an apprentice of Darth Sidious was TOO fast. "Something's happening. I'm not the Jedi I should be..." Granted we know he's frustrated, ambitious, and wants to save his wife...but there could be so much more. The comparasion between Anakin not wanting Padme to die the way his mom dies...it should be of more importance. Basically Lucas could spend more time and effort on Anakin's conversion into the Dark Side.

3) Anakin was sent to kill the youngling jedis. We know he loves Padme. We know he knows she's pregnant and he's pretty happy about it. So one would assume that as a father-to-be he would have some sort of problems murdering these younglings. After all one reason to protect Padme from her death of childbirth is that she will BARE children and live.

I'm going back again this Fri. as our engineering group is taking the dept. our for a screening. I'll definitely enjoy it again the 2nd time out but more mindful of the plots and the light-saber dueling scenes.... hehe... I just hope that after the 2nd viewing I won't be like Obi-Wan Kenobi, when he views the hologram of Anakin's killing spree...."I can't watch anymore."
