High Brow Blogging OR.....NOT
I'm desperate for content. I remembered back in days where they touted "content is king".
Looking at my stats recently my reader-ship has been flagging. Well it comes and goes in cycles but the general trend (yes I did minored in Economics) looks downward. What to do?
Behind every man stands his woman. So I approached Sands and we traded some ideas. These are really rather randomn of sort...
- 1. I could write about sports. That will get the TAS folks who are very sports oriented. Where y'all at maynnnnn?
- 2. I could write about the detailed flossing, tossing, and various running around to places that I do during the normal day listing of events & activities...ie. I ate at yada yada yada, I'm sitting in my car and yada yada yada (thnx snadyrosa for this yada yada yada thing...it rolls off the tongue so cooly.) That is I could blog about my daily "absolute nothing."
- 3. pick a niche...I could talk about technology/gadgets...uhh a film review blog...Christianity...design...etc...
- 4. blog about all things Sandy...how sweet she is...how her smiles makes me smiles...how her little idiosyncratic movements of her hands and shuffling about of her feet are the cutest things...
- 5. be an aggragator of sort. I could peruse GRX's Xanga blogring, summarize the latest blog entries and aggragate into my site. Sort of a technorati for GRX broken into categories: "I'm getting marry. YAY!", "my Taiwan getaway", "my boyfriend is so adorable. YAY!"
My Thoughts On The List Above
#5 just seems plain weird and a bit stalkish. And desperate. Time consuming...yada yada yada.
#4 is the reason I think my readership has been in decline. Note to self: am I becoming TOO soppy?
#3 perhaps...
#2 i'm aiming for high brow blogging remember? haha. but seriously i'm not that into the "been there done that" type of blogging.
#1 perhaps...
#0 (sshhh....it's a secret) ask Sandy to put a link to my site from her site. ooh!
Do It All
I'm going to follow the idea of this designer—why not "do it all".
I hope this blog has made your day. Oh and a taste of things to come....all things Sandy. I will post some pix of our Sausalito getaway on flickr. Tada!
[Thank you: for baring along with this seemingly nothingness of an entry and thank you for coming back. It's not sticky nor high brow but it's fun and for what its worth it makes me think there is such a thing as a "mikeee blogosphere".]
You're pretty funny mike... Best way to have more peopel read your blog... IMO is to read other people's blogs and leave a comment =) Then your "link" gets out there.
you're not sappy. hmm, don't see the sausolito pics yet. i vote for a mixture of all 5, but# 4 sounds really interesting!! hehe i have a new link on my xanga now..check it out. =)
sorry sandy he might not be sappy to you... but your boy is a sap!!! at least to me!!! but I've never been accused of being too romantic...
A mix of stuff is good... blogging is suppose to be able what is going on in your life...
DABRUCESKI: oh i guess so... jk. thnx for the good idea. Happy New Year!
SL: haha. funny hunnie. Thanks for link from your site. So that's click on visit my website on the left hand side? Hey and why did you change your profile pic? I like the one w/ your smiles taken at the retreat. =)
KAT15812: I'm no sap! Am I? Hmmm...I suppose I could blog about how realistic the SFX in King Kong was. It must have been expensive to get a stunt to climb up Empire State building and to fall all the way down. Yikes on the studio's insurance policy! =P
1 vote for sap =)
to increase traffic, you could try cross-posting in xanga (and disable comments so they have to come here to do it).
posting pictures and making fun of your friends is always fun... :) or writing about relationships usually gets lots of comments.
CLIEU: yeah there are few comments on my deep insightful thoughts(?) but i get tons of comments from "first fight"...i'd guess people rather read light banters than heavy duty stuff. i'll def. try cross-posting and hopefully xanga won't be too hard to use.
muahaha... cross posting has become easier now...
i found croissanga to automate the cross-blogging... after reading clieu's comment...
