Second Quarter Review

Following some highlights of the weekend, I'll blog a bit about the second quarter. (Here's the writeup of the first quarter.)

The highlights of the weekend...

- after driving up and down the 152 East for more than eight years while living in LA, I finally visited Casa de Fruta. It's a conglomerate for Casa de anything. My favorite is sampling the food, although Sands would say it's gross.
- played bocce with Sandy, Jimmy, Lauren. We were ever the gentleman, letting the girls win of course. Altough you wouldn't know that from this version.
- saw fireworks in Cupertino. We brought with us (again with Jimmy and Lauren) blanket and lawn chair. We ended up sitting on the driveway of Citibank, a bright halogen light blasting our face. If I squinted hard enough I could make out the fireworks, which lasted about fifteen minutes.

This and That for the Second Quarter

Work: Slow as usual although my manager tells me in our last meeting something "big" is in the pipeline. Oh and my manager also approached me to look into some open source blogging software to use for our company website. Hmmm...why me? What do I know about blogs?

Spirituality: Smallgroup got tremendously large. At some point we had 25 people in smallgroup. I'm thankful and encouraged for smallgroup. KidZone? Sweet. I love those kids. Their smiles and "Jesus loves me this I know for the bible tells me so" attitude is guhreat. I have been doing devotional with Sandy also. We're reading Blackaby's Experiecing God: A Devotional Journal. It's really a blessing to be sure doing QT with your gf. Strangely we have also been approached by Pastor Ali (couple's pastor at GRX) about couple's ministry. So that's something we'll probably explore in the near future.

Finance: Whew! Rooough. We'll see what's in store next quarter.

Health: I'm still running, somewhat sporadically. Sandy and I have been doing some hikings as of late. Hiking as a couple is always the bestest. Still playing in GRX Hoops. My team the Geckos are going to the playoffs this Sunday. Come out to cheer us on if you have nothing else to do 9PM Sunday night.

Due up is a couple of weddings for us: one in Seattle, a few in the South Bay/East Bay, where Sandy will be the scripture reader...that is if the couples didn't pick an Indian spiritual prayer. That's all for now. Thanks for reading.
